Upper School
Fueled by curiosity and intellectual passion, teachers in our Upper School (grades nine through twelve) exemplify for students an exciting, long-term approach to learning. In a warm, relaxed environment, teachers challenge their students to look deeply into a subject, to take an independent intellectual stance, and to creatively engage with their work.
By honing skills in reading, writing, speaking, and problem-solving, our students become active, effective participants in the vibrant exchange of ideas. It’s the sort of lively discourse and debate that helps students develop confidence and leadership skills. At the same time, we’re careful to maintain a supportive environment – a place sensitive to the unique needs of teenagers, where they can feel safe flexing their intellectual muscles.
We try to ensure that students and teachers thoroughly enjoy their work together in pursuit of educational achievement; and through that close mentoring, along with in-depth college guidance, our students enjoy smooth passage from successful high school careers to the colleges and universities best suited to their individual goals.
