The Process
The admission process typically includes the following steps:
Inquiry – Inquiries are always welcome. Call, e-mail, or drop by our office to receive materials and find out more about the School.
Campus Visit – Call our office to schedule an appointment. This initial parent or parent/student visit includes a tour of the school and an overview of what we offer. Or attend an open house event.
Application& Forms– You can download the application forms. A completed application with a $75 non-refundable application fee ($50 for preschool, $100 for international students) is required with the application. A photo of the student is also requested with the application.
Student Visit – A full-day visit for second through twelfth grade applicants (half-day for 1st grade applicants) provides an opportunity to become familiar with the school by spending a day in the classroom and meeting potential classmates. Applicants for preschool and kindergarten are invited to join on of our Saturday morning playgroups (link to the admission event page) .
Admission Testing and Interviews – Applicants for grades one through twelve are required to participate in a Saturday morning standardized testing session administered at the school. The Educational Records Bureau test includes sections on reading comprehension, and verbal and math skills. Candidates will also be asked to create a writing sample. The admission staff will be happy to share test scores at the conclusion of the admission process. Candidates for grades six through twelve will also interview with faculty and the head of their division. Kindergarten applicants meet individually by appointment with one of the kindergarten teachers to evaluate readiness for the program.
Parent Visit – A 30-minute conference with Admission is an opportunity to discuss the candidate and for parents to ask questions about the school and its offerings.
